Extra Cheese

We said, "Say cheese."
Reese said, "Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!"

Ready for some Football!

Reese has her spot in the student-section all scoped out.

Gator Tail

Last night during our post-dinner walk on campus.

Play Ball!

We're at the Gator baseball game...Reese says, "I like baseball!"

New Potty Seat

We ordered a new toilet seat for Reese's bathroom to make the potty a bit more accommodating and Mr. UPS-man dropped it off last night.

The seat is pretty slick actually. When you open the lid, a child's seat is revealed. It's narrow enough so itty-bitty butts don't fall into the water...pretty nice right?
Reese says, "Reese's seat" *see below

By lifting "Reese's seat", you reveal a regular adult-size toilet seat that you'd find any ol' place.
Reese says, "Mommy's seat" *see below

By lifting "Mommy's seat", you get the narrow, hard, cold porcelain rim of the toilet to which...

Daddy's stand up anyway!

It's Raining It's Pouring...

With the rainfall that we've had of late, even a simple trip to the
mailbox requires the full "Giraffe Wet-Weather Gear".

When we told Reese that she'd have to put on her boots if she wanted
to go with Mommy to the mailboxl, she replied, "But they'll get all
wet!"

Folding 101

So Reese fancies herself a professional folder these days. She loves
folding everything! When Mommy is folding laundry, Reese is helping...
when Daddy is folding some towels, Reese is helping... when there is
no laundry to fold, Reese is folding the little rugs from the kitchen,
laundry room etc.. They all end up in the family room looking like rug
burritos.

While folding yesterday Reese said (to nobody in particular), "I do
good job!"

Say Cheeeze

Here is Reese taking a picture of me with her phone as I take a
picture of her with my phone.

She is saying, "Say cheeeeese"

Brewhouse

Trying out BJ's Brewhouse with the family. Reese ordered the
Mac'n'Cheese which is actually Kraft Macaronni and Cheese...perfect!
No need to "fancy up" mac'n'chz.

Baby Signing Time

In the two years that Reese has been on this earth, only 2 things on
TV have ever held her attention.

When she was about 4-6 months old the Baby Einstein video "Baby's
First Moves" had her mezmorized. Since then we've been very pleased
with the fact that she would rather be outside swinging, running and
jumping than inside sitting in front of the TV.

That still remains true today, but now we have to also dedicate at
least 30-40 minutes per day to watching her newest video
passion..."Baby Signing Time". This is a video that teaches babies and
toddlers to use sign language to communicate. Sure, Reese is talking
up a storm these days, but it's largly educational and Reese loves
watching babies on the television.

Reese knows how to sign all the words In the video and it may be time
to upgrade to the next installment of the "Baby Signing Time" videos.

So the next time you'd like to have a conversation with the Nugget
without saying anything, make sure you use the words: Mommy, Daddy,
eat, drink, hurt, milk, juice, water, cracker, cereal, banana, dog,
cat, horse, fish, frog, bird, all done, more, Grandma, Grandpa, shoes,
socks, diaper, or few others I've forgotten.

Stay tuned...

Zzz's Being Caught

After 30 minutes of Daddy playing "Nap-Monitor", Reese finally fell
asleep. Photo taken just before Daddy made his stealthy retreat.

On the Road Again...

Reese and Daddy were joined by Anthony and his son Michael for a nice bike ride Saturday morning.

Here's Reese as we were getting ready to shove off. Reese was great
the first 50% of the ride followed by mild fussiness for the next 25% of the ride and finishing with 25% of quiet/sleeping. Statistically speaking, it was a successful ride...and pulling a 50 lb. parachute behind the bike makes for some good training.

Time to go back to school

Reese decided that she needed to bring her baby doll to get her
passport. Here she is heading back to the car when we were all done.
She has gotten to be such a little girl...what happened to the baby we
had just 15 minutes ago?

Getting a Passport

Waiting for our turn at the passport office inside the downtown post
office.

As you can see, Reese still hasn't let her personality shine when a
stranger is behind the camera. This makes for some very "Little House
on the Prarie" school and passport photos.

Just to Hold Ya'll Over...

We realize that we have set a precedent with the amount of entries we
post as well as the regularity with which we post them.

In light of this precedent, we realize that even a few days without
new Reese photos could seem like an eternity.

We humbly submit for your perusal this image of Reese from a few weeks ago.

We are heading over to the downtown post office in just a few minutes
to obtain a passport for the Nugget. I can't think of any country that
would deny entry to such an adorable 2 year old, but c'est la vie.

Stay tuned...

Reese's Inaugural Swim

We have officially broken in our club pool.

We were afraid that Reese had lost the zest for swimming that she so
enthusiastically displayed last year. Much to our relief, Reese's fish-like
abilities floated to the surface after just a few minutes in the water.

Sure, there is need for some skill refreshement and we've already
contacted our ISR instructor from last summer, but we're off to a
great start!

Now Reese is resting after her session, watching all the older kids in
the pool...it won't be long before she'll be the Marco to their Polo.

Wiped Out

We went to Blue Springs with some friends today. Reese was so busy
playing in the water and in the sand that naptime got trumped by State
Park fun. Two minutes into the drive home, the lack of sleep caught up
with the Nugget.

We're back home now and Reese is still fast asleep. In an attempt to
maximize her willingness to sleep, I am currently sitting in the
garage with her while she finishes off her much- needed nap.

REESEisms:
So Daddy (& Mommy, to a lesser extent) have been fighting colds for a
couple of weeks now. We explained that we couldn't kiss Reese on the
lips cause we're sick. In the mornings Reese will come out look at
Daddy and ask:

Reese: You sick?
Daddy: Yeah, I'm sick.
R: You lodda sick?
D: Yeah, I'm a lot sick.
R: Mommy liddle sick?
D: Yeah, Mommy is a little bit sick.
R: You got germs on yer mouth?
