Footy-PJ's

Due to Reese's inability to sleep with any blankets or sheets on top
of her, we're continuing to equip her with snuggly, warm footied
pajamas during these arctic Gainesville winter nights.

It's perfectly acceptable to have your child wear footied-PJs through
puberty, right?

On a seasonal note, the Advent Calendar has just THREE more windows to
open! Reese is ready.

Baby Bumble Bee

I've gotten requests for some Nugget audio so here you go...

By clicking HERE you'll be able to listen to the raw, uncut, unedited voice of our 2.5 year old Reese Addison.

In this clip, recorded live last night (10-26-09) in the bathtub, Reese is singing her newest single, "Baby Bumble Bee".

You'll also hear Reese asking Daddy if he needs to "Go Running".

Sit back, relax, and enjoy...

Paging Alberta

During a lull in the volleyball game, Reese YELLS across the arena,
"HI ALBERTA!"

Alberta actually stopped in her tracks, turned around and looked at
Reese (along with the rest of the arena).

Of course Alberta walked over to us and of course Reese was too afraid
to hug her, but we managed to have Reese give her high 5.

talk her out of the fur coat.

Unsent Phone Photos - 3

These were taken in poor light during a week long infatuation with the
talking, story-telling, giggleing, joke-making, interactive Elmo
doll...glad that week is over!

Chill in the Air

Our first real fall morning and Reese is feeling the chill. It's still
going to be in the 80's this afternoon, so shorts are still the

Naughty

I had just signed the paper at Reese's daycare which basically makes
us aware that our child didn't behave at some point during the day.

I turned to Reese and asked her if she had been a naughty girl to
which she replied, "I don't get a lollipop do I?"

the pool to try it out.

Puppy-sittin'

Reese has been watching two of Aunt Tara's dogs this week. She
thoroughly enjoys a dog that she can pick up and hold under one arm.

The sentence of the week has been, "Reese, put the puppy down please."

The two miniature daschunds, Paisley & Mabel, go home this weekend.
Reese will surely miss returning home at the end of the to find
"Playsley" and Mabel as eager to play as she is...our dog, Cyan, won't
be.

Leavin' on a Jet Plane...

Daddy dropped the Mommy and the Nugget off at the airport this
morning. We gave Reese her new suitcase once we parked. She was soooo
proud to pull her own suitcase into the terminal...meanwhile, Daddy's
heart was breaking knowing that he wouldn't see his girls for 2 weeks.
*sob, sob*

It's NAKED time!

In addition to Reese's current stage of "exherting her
independance" (I think that's the nice way to say terrible twos),
she's also is in a bit of a "don't like to have clothes on" stage.

Here is the nudey-booty helping Mommy run the vacuum.

Friday in the Fort

Hanging out with Reese in her backyard loft. The kabobs are on the
grill and the rain is getting ready to roll in...we're taking cover.

Dress Up with my Cousin

In Orlando for the 4th of July weekend. Reese and her cousin, Hayley,
came out of the back room dressed up in play clothes...too cute!

Catching up

Oops, its been a while since our last post...here's a couple shots
from the last week or so.

This is from last week post-haircut. We're upstairs at the UF plaza
across from the Swamp restaurant getting some pizza from New York Pizza.

Reese kept yelling to people on the street, "HEY BOY DOWN THERE!"

Gettin' a trim

We're finally here!

A Musical Piece

New iPhone app + Reese's Voice = Great idea for the blog.

...still kinks to work out, but click here to listen to some audio of the Nugget recorded live from her crib on Monday evening.

Swingset...done!

This year, father's day was celebrated by having Daddy build the 1
million piece swingset in the newly landscaped backyard.

Poppy (a.k.a Daddy's Daddy) and Memaw (a.k.a Daddy's Mommy) came into
town and were integral pieces of the swingset-building team!

Twelve hours of manual labor spread out over two of the HOTTEST days
ever makes this feat that much more impressive...building a swingset,
big deal...building a swingset on the surface of the sun, EPIC
achievement!

So the "Daddy-built, Nugget-approved" swingset is done and we're
looking forward to it providing years of enjoyment for us.

You Know When...

...it gets real quiet...too quiet...
Well it dawned on me that Reese hadn't made a sound in the past few
minutes so I went to investigate.

Reese had wanted to feed the dog, but the new bag of dog food wasn't
open yet. Here is the Nugget taking it upon herself to rip open the
bag of dog food...piece by piece.

Bowling with Reese

Reese's first experience with the bowling alley was a success! Sure, the actual bowling part of the trip was secondary to:

1) Running all over the place
2) exploring the arcade
3) eating popcorn
4) running some more
5) drinking Sprite
6) running again
7) riding the mechanical gator by the front door
8) being chased by Mommy
9) being chased by Daddy
10) being chased by Grandma
11) being chased by Brit
...but Reese really had a great time and we had a great time watching her enjoy herself so much!

On a side note: Mommy is a good bowler but Daddy has the best form.

The Retired Horse Farm

This past weekend, while Grandma and Reese's cousin were visiting from South FLA, we took another trip over to the retired horse farm to feed carrots to...you guessed it, the retired horses.

We managed to get there just as the thermometer was topping out at 10,000 degrees. These poor horses thought that they were going to live out their remaining years on a beautiful pasture while being fed copious amounts of carrots. The beautiful pasture and carrot parts are true...but I'm sure nobody told the horses about the Hell-like temperatures in Alachua during the summer.

We hosed Reese down with some sunscreen and attempted to have her wear a hat (which didn't last long). The heat was soon overshadowed by the giddiness in Reese's body language as the horses made their way to the fence. The family-size bag of carrots that we picked up at Publix before arriving was soon nibbled away to nothing and we headed over to Conestogas in quaint downtown Alachua for some AC and lunch.

Here are a few photos from our day feeding the horses (and donkeys)...
