Paid in full...
As I sit here in my office surrounded by posters, pictures and nic-nacs of Gator glory both past and present, I lament my decision to place a small wager on the Capitol One Bowl Game this past New Year's day. The heavily favored Gators were matched up against the Wolverines from Michigan and we were unable to secure the victory, thus leaving me with the burden to fulfill my debt.
Regrettably, the wager made with my brother-in-law was not one of monetary value...for that would be an easy pill to swallow. This wager affects ones pride, ego and spirit. If the Gators had won (which they should've), I'd be enjoying photos of my Maize and Blue lovin' brother-in-law struttin' around Detroit-Rock-City wearing the glorious Orange & Blue of my beloved Gators...but nay! The retribution I am to pay involves the same type of penalty, but the twist was that my precious, innocent little Reese would be the one bearing the burden of the gambling seeds that I have sewn.
As a man of my word, I sorrowfully post this image. The shirt is maize and blue, but the blood that pumps beneath it is Orange and Blue...I can assure you of that.
P.S. Upon leaving the Swamp, we were reminded that it's ALWAYS "great to be a Florida Gator"!

All Grow'd Up
After eight long months at home baby sitting her parents, Reese felt she was ready for something a bit more challenging. So on Monday of this week the Nugget ventured out into the real world to try her hand at daycare. Sure it would be hard a first, maybe a few tears, pouting, feeling of emptiness...but her parents would get over it and come to realize that their little baby girl is all grow'd up.
Armed with eight teeth, the ability to walk, a charismatic personality and a deep hunger for knowledge, Reese conquered her first day, and then her second. What'll be next for this head-strong bundle of energy? Who knows...stay tuned...

A Piece of the Holidays
Tis the season to drive all over the state of Florida, eating lunch at turnpike rest-stops, packing luggage, daughter, doggy, Christmas presents, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., into the car, give gifts, receive gifts, give gifts to other side of family, receive more gifts, pack those new gifts into car along with daughter, doggy etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., drive some more, sleep in relatives guest bed, eat too much food, come home, unload daughter, doggy, luggage, gifts etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., try to find room in house for all the new stuff, give up on finding room for stuff and just leave it all on the living room floor, go to bed, wake up and reflect upon your restful vacation...ahhhhh.
Reese's first Christmas was indeed a busy one loaded with friends, family, travel and a ton of gifts. Reese started opening presents in early December and honed her paper-tearing skills all the way through the end of the year. Reese loves all of the things that Santa brought her this year even though she would probably have been just as happy with a couple of cardboard boxes, one of Daddy's old shoes, a lid to a fry pan and her most recent fascination...the potato masher.
Here are a few images from the month of December:
